On Friday, an editor for The Loadout interviewed me about HarshTone and the ongoing protest against Blizzard! I was thrilled to have interest and attention brought to this project, and for additional coverage of the BlizzCon protest. As this project has grown and refined over its development (and as I've struggled to figure out how best to share it with the gaming and activist communities), at the suggestion of another activist and organizer for the group Gamers for Freedom (whose organizing efforts spurred me start this project in the first place), I've created a website to house all content related to the project. My hope is that this will make it a little easier for me to manage, and for others to view, download, and engage with the content.
As of today, two out of five decks are complete and available to download and print: the Hong Kong deck, and the CCP deck. My hope is to finalize the third deck - the Blizzard deck, by late this evening and have it up and ready in time for tomorrow's protest at BlizzCon. If I'm lucky (and my cat lets me get some sleep), I'll have the remaining two decks--Gamers and Activism, completed and available by Monday. If you're just visiting for the first time, brief introductions: My name is Kirstin, and I'm the individual behind this project and running this website. You can read a little about my vision and intent with HarshTone on the front page, but if you have any questions please feel free to send me a message. And please: do feel free to download and share this project! My ultimate goal is for these cards to get out into the world and be played; to spark conversation and critical thought on these issues. As such, all cards are licensed under Creative Commons BY-SA. Thanks for stopping by. ~Kirstin |
